Swinging Cats – Away – Live on TV
More « rocking -horse s—t » footage of the Swinging Cats at the Pebble Mill BBC Studios in Birmingham performing ther own composition « Away » The two dancers are doing a routine of the little-known dance theyhad created themselves during a lunch-break at the local tax-office , « I think we overdid it with the itching powder again » Had the Cats not met with their sad and unjust early demise the dance routine would most probably achieved universal acclaim alongside the « Watusi » « the Frug » and the « Mashed Potatoe » et al. The song featured on their double -A sided Two-Tone release along with Mantovani which mysteriously and tragicaly failed to chart in the top ten , but the grapevine has it that « MANTOVANI WILL RIDE AGAIN » Watch this space!
Swinging Cats – Never on a Sunday – Live on TV
The Swinging Cats ultra rare film footage of the « fabled »2-tone band (proving their actual existance).this is a cover version of the song featured in the film of the same name,it tells of a lament of a prostitute who is insisting that she has a day of occasionaly, preferably a sunday as that’s her day of rest .This song was favourite of the many chip shop proprieters in Coventry at the time and was a contender to be the bands first 2-tone release. »Come in Athens -can we have your points please! »
